Fill the Trailer for Oklahoma

From Pr. Nick...

What happened in Oklahoma this past week is a tragedy beyond comprehension. Mixed in the tragedy is stories of bravery and love. Perhaps you've heard about the teacher who laid over her students to protect them while she prayed aloud... But did you hear that she was Lutheran? She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City.
Trinity Lutheran Church is a few miles from Moore, where the need is the greatest. Many of their members, our brothers and sisters, lost everything. They are in desperate need of the basics.
Pr. Phil Geleske, the Executive Director of Briarwood Retreat Center knows the pastor at Trinity very well. They go to Briarwood every summer for camp. Phil called me a couple hours ago and asked if we could help gather some basic things to take up to Trinity. Of course I said yes... Actually I told him we would fill up a trailer and follow him up there. Then I found a trailer!
Here is what we need to fill it with:
  • Boys Clothing
  • Children’s Shoes
  • Bottled Water
  • Sports Drinks
  • Diapers
  • Baby Food
  • Canned Goods
  • Non-perishable food
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Work Gloves
  • Hygiene Products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream, shampoo, soap)
  • Paper Towels
  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Cash or Gift Cards
Time is of essence, we need these things on Sunday, May 26. We are taking them up on Monday or Tuesday. There will be a trailer parked out front on Sunday, please place your donation inside of it. If you're interested in going with me, please me him know.
This is what it means to be the Body of Christ!
