For Lent, members of Abiding Grace are encouraged to participate in a spiritual practice which increases awareness of the many gifts we receive from God while helping those in need. A Lenten calendar is available online.

The calendar is based on one developed by Rhonda Kindig of St. John Lutheran Church in Abingdon, Virginia. Beginning on Ash Wednesday and continuing for the forty days of Lent, each square gives a chance to give thanks for something in our lives we may take for granted (“How many sinks are in your home? Give thanks for fresh water!”).

As we count, place an equal number of coins in a bank for Ebola relief in Sierra Leone. We will have a special offering on Easter Sunday, April 5, to bring our coins together and send the gift to the NT-NL Mission Area to be used to help our brothers and sisters in Sierra Leone.
